The Alphabet Train Nursery School
We constantly strive to build on the exceptionally high standards of care and education that has earned The Alphabet Train it's excellent reputation.
The aim of the nursery school is to create a caring, friendly, but disciplined environment, in which to learn.
Through a varied and stimulating timetable, we hope the children will gain the confidence, independence, and social skills to start life at their next school happily and with enthusiasm, fully equipped to achieve their individual potential.
Children can start at the Alphabet Train in our afternoon Playgroup, aged 2 years.
They move up to our morning sessions, as "Carriages", later becoming "Engines". Activities during a typical session may include art and crafts, cookery, music, sand and water play, physical education, story telling, role play, projects, news and games.
While the children are with us, we also teach them colours and shapes, before moving on to the recognition and understanding of number and letters, so that we hope they leave us able to write their names, and with a good grounding from which to progress.

"Our son was always welcomed warmly, and was always excited to be there. We never had a time when he did not want to go. We could not have imagined that a place as wonderful as Alphabet Train existed! Our son has thrived in every sense, and has had the best start to his education. The one-to-one time is fantastic! He holds a pencil beautifully, and his number and letter work is of a very high standard. We are thrilled!"
J. Dennett - 2007
"Over the seven years I have known The Alphabet Train you have maintained an excellent standard, and I feel you have given both my children the very best of starts in their learning years. Long may you thrive!"
C. Elliott - 2007
"I am constantly amazed by your ingenious ideas for art and crafts. I feel that the way you greet and dismiss the children demonstrates and demands respect and good manners. You have created the perfect balance of structure, purposefulness and fun, and this makes for secure, calm and confident children."
S. Vincent - 2007
"I feel that as a very 'fussy' Mum, and an Early Years teacher, that The Alphabet Train has been a total success for my son and myself."
