Playhouse Community Nursery
New Cross, Greater London
Since then, the nursery has expanded to offer 50 full-time places for children aged between three months and five years due to the increasing need for affordable childcare in the local community.
Playhouse is a registered charity, and is a not for profit organisation.
Playhouse is run by a Trustee and Management Committee which is made up of parents/carers and interested people from the local area.
Our dedicated staff team consists of the Centre Manager, Nursery Manager, Deputy Nursery Manager, Finance Officer, Office Manager, Early Years Educator, Head of Under 3s, Nursery Officers and Nursery Assistants.
There is also a Cook/Domestic Supervisor and a Kitchen Assistant who provide a daily cooked meal using fresh produce (recently awarded the maximum 5 stars by the Food Standards Agency).
Our Vision:
At Playhouse Community Nursery our vision is to provide quality and sustainable childcare for the children and their families in the local Deptford community and the surrounding areas.
Our aim is to offer an affordable and comprehensive childcare service which will enable us to care for children ranging from three months to five years of age.
Our purpose is to offer a safe, stimulating environment, enjoying our diversity, and putting into practice our beliefs in equality in all the nursery's activities, ensuring that the children gain a broad early years education.
Our key values focus on providing a quality service for all our parents and to work in partnership with parents/carers actively involving them in the running of the nursery.

Playhouse aims to provide all children who attend the nursery with the best possible environment in which they can enjoy learning.
We welcome children with special needs, and treat all children as individuals, in order for them to reach their full potential.
Each child is assigned a Key Worker, who is particularly responsible for a small group of children within their group room.
The Key Worker will help the child settle into the nursery, and will ensure that both the child and their parents feel secure and confident during the child's time at Playhouse.
Each child has a profile, where their Key Worker will make observations about the child's progress and achievements, so that parents have a good overview of their child's progress at Playhouse.
Key Workers also meet regularly with parents to give more detailed feedback on their child.
Playhouse works to The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and the Every Child Matters programme.
