Laton Ash Nursery
Hastings, East Sussex
The Nursery is privately owned and occupies part of a large detached house, using the ground and lower ground floors of the building. There is a large secure outdoor area to the rear for use by the children.
The size of the premises allows children to have a wide choice of activities during their day.
Laton Ash welcomes all children from the age of two to five years, regardless of religion or culture. Places can also be arranged for children with special needs or disabilities.
The Nursery provides a gentle introduction to a structured day, similar to the one encountered when starting Primary school. In a happy, caring environment the children learn through games and activities including Letterland,
Language skills, basic French, numbers, co-ordination and communication skills, art and craft, singing, stories and creative expression.
We appreciate that children at this age do not want to feel that they are learning all the time, so activities are
informal, with no pressure placed on the children, enabling them to develop their skills at their own speed.
We provide a high staff/child ratio as laid down by the
National Guidelines, ensuring that a high standard of care is consistently offered by qualified staff and experienced nursery assistants.
A qualified Early Years teacher attends three sessions per week.
Parents are encouraged to visit with their child for an
informal discussion and to view the Nursery during
working hours. There is a - Break Time - during each session, when the children are offered a drink and a snack.
For those staying for a cooked lunch, we encourage healthy eating with salad, vegetables and fresh fruit forming a major part of our menu.
