Twinkletotz Ltd Day Nursery
Hayes, Greater London
Aims and Objectives
We aim to provide a safe and caring environment for children to develop and grow.
Our objectives are to provide a variety of stimulating activities, offering choices and encouraging decision-making. Our service will promote equal opportunities through play and our environment.
The Activities
We will provide an activity plan, which will be displayed to parents and children. This will allow any input, suggestions and feedback to be provided. The plans will be put together by all members of staff and reviewed at the end of each week. By planning the activities we are aware of what equipment will be needed and how we will meet all the children's needs. A member of staff will be asked to monitor the activity and evaluate if the activity was a success or will need reviewing.
Policies and Procedures
Our polices and procedures are available to all members of staff, parents, carers, Ofsted and any other relevant organisation. They will be displayed at all times and as a team we will review the documents twice a year.
Use of space
We will use the space in a safe and appropriate way, meeting our ratios, and keeping to our registered places. Any activities will be planned making sure that there is sufficient space and all areas of health and safety are covered.
In our practise we will:
Celebrate festivals from different cultures, as well as promote cultural diversity.
Have tapes available for children to learn and listen to other languages unfamiliar to them.
Have a variety of costumes and materials form all different backgrounds.
Have resources that reflect positive imagines of different cultures, ethnicity, gender and disability
Celebrate and taste food from other cultures.
Use other parents or interpreters when appropriate, in order for parents to become fully involved in the setting's practice so that language is not a barrier.
The Staffing
All staff will complete a CRB check, hold a relevant or be working towards a suitable qualification. All staff will have an equal amount of input in to the running of the day nursery and will be required to take part in activities and training that contribute to their development.
Food
Our approach is to make eating fun!
We offer a varied balanced diet, including milk and water, which is available at any time. During snack-time a variety of fruit and vegetables are offered to help provide a healthy balance of nutrition. Our menus are discussed and evaluated with the nursery cook on a regular basis to ensure that nutritional needs are met.
We will always take into account your child's dietary requirements to ensure that he/she develops excellent eating habits.
We encourage independence and self help skills during food and snack time and will only support your child as and when needed.
