St. Vincents Nursery is situated within the grounds of Haydon School and is registered for 59 children aged 3 months - 5 years.

Our bright and spacious nursery caters for 27 children under 2 and 32 children from 2-5 years.

We have one 3-12 month room, one 12-18 month room, an 18-30 month room and two rooms for the 2-3 year group and the 3-5 year group.

There is also a large grassed secure area for outdoor play and a patio area for playing with bikes, prams etc.

We also have a digging area and a vegetable plot for 3-5 year olds.

All staff are either qualified or are doing NVQ or Cache training.

All have first aid certificates.

Our staff are experienced and caring, ensuring children feel secure and parents/carers feel confident in leaving your children with us.

The nursery is open from 8.00am to 6.00pm, Monday to Friday, closing for bank holidays and a week at Christmas.

We provide lunch and tea which consists of freshly prepared meals providing a good variety of well balanced, nutritious food.

All dietary needs are catered for. Toast is also provided for breakfast and parents/carers can bring in cereal.

In January 2010, we were awarded with a 5 Star Food Hygiene rating from the Scores on the Doors scheme. Scores on the Doors is a pilot scheme supported by the Food Standards Agency.

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage which consists of 2 main sections The Statutory Framework, that sets out all the legal requirements of the EYFS relating to learning, development and welfare.

It also includes detailed information on providers obligations under the framework and the Practice Guidance documents that contain essential advice and guidance for all practitioners working with children from birth to five years.
