Pupils can join the school at the age of three or above, and can stay until they leave to undertake full - time dance training or to begin work in the world of dance.

Under - fives begin with general classes that include basic Classical Ballet, Stage Tap, and Modern Stage Dance.

They are later introduced to Jazz, Contemporary, Acrobatic, Song and Dance, and National Dance.

All pupils are strongly encouraged to continue classes in Classical Ballet (Russian Method), since ballet is the basis of and enhances all other dance training.

During the summer and at other times through the year, most pupils can take optional extra classes with guest teachers from major companies and West End shows.

Regular examinations are a feature of our dance training: they give a specific target and a clear indication of progress to both pupils and the teacher.

Examination sessions are held on several occasions throughout the year.

Examinations can commence at the age of four.

Examinations are never compulsory a comprehensive record of successful examinations is viewed favourably by most training establishments.

Pupils who attend the school purely for fun discover the joy of performance in our annual revue at The Broadway Theatre or our annual Musical Theatre production.

The school also participates in competitions, fetes, street parades, and carnival performances.

These performances build confidence, as well as giving the entire family a chance to share in pupils' achievements.
