Chatham, a town in Kent, home to more than 75,000 people is most famous for its naval connections, particularly its naval dockyard.
Although the naval dockyards have been closed for many years now, their legacy remains as there is now a commercial port on the site, while tourism continues to benefit from the attractions in former dockyard buildings, which are now a designated a World Heritage Site.
The museum called Chatham Historic Dockyard is a treasure trove of maritime artefacts and information including three warships, an RNLI lifeboat museum a recreation of a shipyard from the 1700s, and lots more.
Not everything in Chatham is navy-related though - Hever Castle, Upnor Castle and Cobham Hall are all well worth a visit.
More than 7,000 people lost their jobs when the dockyards closed - which obviously had a major effect on the local economy. Since then financial services companies have moved to the town, and are now among the largest employers.
Shoppers can visit the Pentagon Shopping Centre, which is home to more than 70 shops, a bowling alley and a range of places to eat.
