If you say “Aylesbury”, everyone thinks “Duck”, but there’s more to the town than its eponymous fowl.
For one thing, Aylesbury, home to more than 50,000 people is the county town of Buckinghamshire, and is built on the site of an Iron Age hill fort, constructed in about 400 BC!
By the Anglo Saxon period, Aylesbury was already a thriving market town.
