Hafton Castle
Dunoon, Argyll and Bute
Hafton Castle
Couples can tailor-make their wedding to suit themselves.
We recommend local caterers, florists, photographers, musicians etc and are happy to help along the way, as little or as much as is required.
Many of our wedding couples extend their stay to two nights, three nights, or even a week to enjoy a longer amount of time with their families and friends.
The Castle is licensed for civil wedding ceremonies, both in the castle and in the gardens.
Hafton Castle is a magnificent building located in Hunter's Quay, just outside Dunoon, with views across Holy Loch.
The Castle is set in its own delightful gardens and has a large heated indoor swimming pool.
(Please note that the price quoted does not include the heating and use of the pool - there is an additional charge of £500 per week for this.)
Hafton Castle is a superb house with its wonderful indoor pool, and numerous spacious public rooms.
There is a large reception hall, dining room, large drawing room with bar area which opens into the small drawing room, library, billiard room, play room, spacious conservatory and lots of outdoor space with a terrace and gardens, in fact plenty of space for the large number of people it sleeps.
The splendid reception hall has numerous seats, wood-burner and a grand piano and would be the perfect place for a Wedding Ceremony.
The nineteen bedrooms are comfortable and all have en-suite showers.
The castle was built by James Hunter, and its architect was David Hamilton who also designed Dunoon Castle.
The building has some magnificent features, beautiful ceilings, carved doors and a superb staircase.
The large drawing room with bar area opens into the small drawing room to make one very large room which is perfect for Wedding Receptions and can accommodate 50 persons for a sit down meal.
We can put you in touch with excellent local caterers who would be happy to discuss arrangements with you and design the perfect menu for your wedding.
Music can be arranged to complete your day, classical, traditional Scottish music of a ceilidh.
Outside in the gardens are old trees, lawns and beautiful views across the Loch, the perfect backdrop for wedding photographs.
The castle is very accessible and can be reached from Glasgow Airport in approximately 45 minutes by car and guests usually arrive via the ferry which departs from Gourock and crosses the Firth of Clyde, a very romantic and atmospheric start to a memorable occasion.
