Tree Felling, Dismantling and Pruning
Occasionally a tree will need to be removed completely; this can be due to a number of reasons.
In the interests of safety the tree may be a danger to people and property if it is in a state of decay or in a weakened condition. A diseased tree may have to be removed in the interests of conservation to ensure neighbouring trees do not become infected.
Crown Thinning
Crown thinning is the selective removal of branches to increase light penetration and air movement through the crown.
Thinning opens the foliage of a tree and reduces weight on heavy limbs, without compromising the tree's natural shape.
Crown Lifting
Crown lifting removes the lower branches from a tree in order to provide clearance for buildings, vehicles and pedestrians.
Crown Reduction
Crown reduction reduces the size of a tree, often for clearance for utility lines.
Reducing the height or spread of a tree is best accomplished by pruning back the leaders and branch terminals to lateral branches that are large enough to assume the terminal roles (at least one-third the diameter of the cut stem).
Compared to topping, this helps maintain the form and structural integrity of the tree.
Stump Grinding
Tree stumps left behind from a felled tree can often get in the way. Once a tree has been removed we can grind the stump and surface roots below ground level. Therefore removing the stump and gaining extra space
Pollarding
Pollarding maintains a tree at a specific height with regular pruning.
This can be used to keep a large, mature tree small or to control the size of a tree positioned too close to buildings or electric wires.
It can create unique trees that live for a very long time as pollarding can prolong the life of the tree.
