The King's Head

Woodstock, Oxfordshire
King's Head Dining Room
King's Head Dining Room
The King's Head dates from 1735 (look out for the datestone and carved monkey above the door). We are located in the market town of Woodstock seven miles to the north of Oxford. The development of coaching in Woodstock was attributed to the landlord of the King's Head Inn who in 1760 started a two wheeled chaise service. The main tourist attraction in Woodstock is Blenheim Palace, home of the Dukes of Marlborough since 1722, birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill in 1874 and a World Heritage site.

The pub has a cosy bar area to the front with original stone walls and open fireplace. To the rear is large dining area and attractive courtyard for those sunny days. Well known for long being a Spud Pub, The King's Head now has a new team and menu.

At The King's Head we celebrate all that is the best of British. We use as much local produce from Oxfordshire as possible focusing on freshness, seasonality and on being a traditional pub. Bar snacks are available all day and a full daily changing menu is available at lunch and dinner. All our food is wholesome and homemade. Where possible it is organic and fairtrade.
