Osbourne Lodge Nursery was the first Day Care Nursery in Pontypool and is based right in the heart of Pontypool town centre. The Nursery provides first class care for children aged from birth to 5 years and is now celebrating its 12th year.
The Nursery is owned and managed by Miss Nikola Masters with the help of a highly dedicated childcare team of staff. The Nursery first opened on January 5th 1998 and has an aim to pursue a policy of continued re-evaluation and training to ensure the Nursery maintains a very high standard of care and development of children.
The Nursery was designed with both children and parents in mind. The two level interior enables the children to mix with others of all ages on a regular basis, creating awareness of their whole surroundings. Each room has a viewing panel, which allows parents to observe their children without disturbing the session.
Osbourne Lodge Nursery aims to incorporate a learning environment with a fun & caring atmosphere. Helping the child to feel safe and confident in their ability, thus nurturing their developing skills. We do this by incorporating the National Curriculum into our daily planning, which is displayed in the nursery for parents to view at any time.
Since opening, the Nursery has achieved 'Investors In People' |status, BEEL Quality Assurance and has been accepted as an Educational Provider within the Torfaen area, which means that parents of children 3 years and above are able to claim funding towards their child's education.
The Nursery and staff are registered with the Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales and an official report is produced on an annual basis, which is available to view in the reception area, along with all Fire Safety and Environmental Health Reports. Police checks, known as enhanced disclosures are carried out on every staff member by the Criminal Records Bureau to ensure they are safe to work with children.

Our parents and customers at the Nursery are very important to us and we respect their views and wishes greatly.
We issue all parents with questionnaires on a regular basis to ensure we are giving the best care to their children and are meeting parents expectations. Further to this we have an open suggestions box for parents to air their views verbally or even anonymously and we are always open to new ideas.

We are located in the newly refurbished building which used to be the Scala Cinema in Pontypool town centre and can be accessed via the front door on Osborne Road.
Parking is available directly outside the Nursery or in the Riverside car park. The front of the building has full disabled access and a door camera and entry system monitors all visitors.
