Millipedes Nursery
We have a wide range of equipment in the nursery that will enable all our children to find something that they love to do and that will aid all aspects of their development. These include:
Construction such as Duplo, Brio construction, Mobilo Cars and train sets and Dolls.
Art and craft - anything to do with paper, glue, playdoh, paints etc
Home corner and dressing up.
Book corner and comfy cushions for relaxing
Practical life to develop independence, concentration and motor control.
Outdoor play with a wide range of equipment
The staff carefully plan activities to meet the needs of each individual child using the children's own interests as a basis. They also introduce new concepts and ideas to develop the children's understanding of the world.
Our aim is for Millipedes children to be happy, have good manners, enjoy learning and the whole experience of being at school. We also prepare them for the difficult transition into full time education. Being part of the Mill School enables us to do this effortlessly as we have use of the school grounds and can carry out activities with the existing Reception children. This could be a visit to the school library, or doing a fun activity together in the playing field.
The children in the Mill School itself achieve excellent results with all of the children going on to their preferred secondary school, many with scholarships.

"My daughter has loved her time at Millipedes, from her very first day she thrived in the smaller, environment. With fewer children than her previous nursery she immediately made new friends and received great care from the attentive and enthusiastic staff. She really looks forward to her sessions and we love to hear her recall her varied and active days whether it be crafts, gardening, singing, walks to see the alpacas or a tractor visit, the list is endless. We are very happy that she is so well cared for in a calm nursery setting, where she can make use of the safe, natural surroundings".
