View of Nursery
Finding the right childcare can be very difficult. At Jubilee Day Nursery we make it easy to choose.
Jubilee Day Nursery is nestled away on 3 1/2 aches of beautiful West Berkshire country side, close to junction 12 off the M4/A4. With lovely woodland walks, we believe children learn through play. Our aim is to provide a safe, happy stimulating, environment in which children aged three months to five years are given every opportunity to thrive in a caring environment and are encouraged to strive to reach their full potential.
At Jubilee we love our outdoor environment. Whatever the weather, we use every opportunity to take advantage of being outdoors where there is a wealth of experiences to discover explore and enjoy.
By extensive planning of indoor and outdoor play activities we use all our wonderful facilities to their full potential. In so doing, we are able to offer children a wide variety of rich and diverse experiences.
"The best classroom and the richest cupboard is roofed only by the sky" (Margaret McMillan)
Our qualified experienced staff at Jubilee work with the children in laying the stepping stones to achieve the 6 important learning goals known as "Foundation Stage".
Mathematical
An understanding of maths is developed through stories, games and imaginative play. Children begin to recognise numbers and become confident and comfortable when counting, matching shapes and different objects.
Communication, language and literacy
Children love listening to stories, songs and poems, hearing and saying sounds and linking them to the alphabet. The children begin to develop and build up their vocabulary and learn to talk clearly and confidently, they will begin to use a pencil and read and write some familiar words.
At Jubilee Day Nursery, all three to five year olds have weekly "fun French lessons" with our professional French Teacher, who has been with the Nursery for over ten years.
Whether inside or outside we continually talk to the children giving them simple explanations about the environment around them, pointing out wild-life, mimicking sounds and encouraging them to explore their environment.
Personal, social and emotional
Through group games children are encouraged to be self-confident, independent, take an interest in things around them, know what their own needs are, tell the difference between right and wrong and be able to dress and un-dress themselves. They develop skills in taking turns, sharing and develop a sense of belonging.
Creative
Using colours, shapes, music, dance and telling stories, we incorporate a variety of props to support role play, children begin to explore different techniques and develop their own imaginations. Hooray Hooray ltd - a leading music and drama group provide music and movement sessions to all the age groups. Our climbing frame becomes a rocket to take us to the moon. We experiment with painting techniques and collect all sorts of objects on our walks, bring them back and create pictures.
Physical development
As children grow, they learn to move confidently, gaining a sense of balance and controlling their own movements. Experimenting with different equipment, such as balls, hoops. Bean bags etc, makes this development effortless and fun. We love playing group games in our paddock, one of our favourite games is beans on toast - it has a variety of moves and is loved by all... I will leave it to the children to tell you all about it!
Knowledge and understanding of the world around them.
By exploring and asking questions about the world around them, children developed a sense of understanding of their own lives, families cultures and beliefs. By using different materials to build with, children learn about everyday technology and how it can be used in everyday life. In our sensory garden the children help plant seeds and care for plants and vegetables, while doing this we discuss changes in textures, smells and growth.
At Jubilee we also run a holiday club for older children.
JUBIEE JETS
Happy Holidays for Kids can also be difficult, There is nothing worse than hearing your children utter the words "I am Bored"!! Jubilee Jets is the place to be during school half term and holidays. Your children will have so much fun, in a perfectly safe and secure environment, with our fully qualified staff. Jubilee Jets is where the best childhood memories of summer are made.
There is football with our professional coach, biking through woods or whizzing on quad bikes around our specially designed track. We have ponies, ducks, chickens and lambs who all love lots of attention. At Jubilee Jets you can take part in cooking projects, art and craft activities, trampolining, building castles in the enormous sand pit in fact, there is always so much going on at Jets there isn't time to be bored.
We value any help and support from parents, it is essential for the children to understand our close links and the importance of working in partnership, the best way to learn is by example. Parents are welcome at any time to come along for walks or help to plant the green beans. If you have some spare time, we would love to see you.
We are very proud of what we have to offer at Jubilee Day Nursery, should you like to know more about us, or would like to come and view our facilities for yourself, please do not hesitate to contact us.
