We've recently moved into the area and consequently didn't know any local tradesmen. The barn conversion had night-storage heaters, which were old, ugly and inefficient, and we were looking to find an alternative form of heating. The property doesn't have a gas supply and we didn't really want all of the turmoil associated with the traditional wet central heating and the installation of pipes everywhere anyway. We approached Electric Connections after seeing one of their adverts for electric radiators - this seemed the perfect solution.
After an initial survey, which was very thorough, we obtained a detailed estimate that included the heat-loss calculations and recommended radiator sizes. A fully automatic system was recommended which involved mains-borne control of each radiator without wires. The price was considerably lower than the full wet central heating system for gas, which we thought we would have to have installed.
The entire system was supplied and fitted, together with extra points to service radiators which didn't have existing power, in a couple of weeks. The two young men installing the radiators couldn't have been more friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. They carried out a superb job to a very high standard, and at the end of every day, vacuumed up and left the place spick-and-span.
We cannot recommend Electric Connections highly enough and will definitely have them back to do further electrical work for us later in the year.
From Madalyn Smithers:
I contacted Electric Connections in 2008 to enquire about installing a new heating system at my elderly parents' home. At that first meeting, we were impressed by the time taken to conduct a thorough assessment of our requirements and explain, with great patience, the options available. We decided to go ahead with the work, based on the fair price given and our confidence in Electric Connections to complete the work to the highest standard. There was also an element of personal rapport which is very important when people are going to be working in your home for any length of time.
We decided to complete the work in stages so that my parents could cope better with the disruption in their home. As it turned out, the disruption was minimal and my parents quickly began to look forward to the visits from the young men who completed the work! They treated my parents and their home with the utmost respect and always prepared well before starting work and tidied up neatly afterwards. Where decoration had to be disturbed, we were impressed at the neatness of their work.
Subsequently, I have had some electrical work done in my own home and I have been equally satisfied with the quality of the work and the courteous service from the team at Electric Connections. I was invited to write this review by the proprietor of Electric Connections and I would certainly not have agreed if I had any reservations whatsoever. I am very happy to give this company my highest recommendation.
From Liz Kemp:
As my home is over 40 years old, I had had some concerns about the condition of the wiring but was worried that a complete re-wire could cost several thousand pounds. An electrician I have known for many years recommended Electric Connections and even came along to introduce them when they came to do the assessment.I was immediately impressed by the honesty of Mr Lacey who, rather than try to convince me that a complete re-wire would be necessary, suggested that an upgrade would almost certainly suffice. The initial inspection was done free of charge and the subsequent upgrade was carried out with the greatest of care by the lads who did the work and they took the time to clean up properly afterwards. I was also very pleased with the price quoted which was very detailed and, I felt, very reasonable.I would have no hesitation in recommending Electric Connections and, have already used them on several occasions for electrical work at a local church hall which I help to run.
