Footloose Theatre School was established at Sandymoor Community Centre in 2004. Within the last four years, the school has been involved in Community Projects, shows at Professional Theatres and the school has a 100% pass rate for examinations in Ballet, Tap and Modern.

The school prides itself in having fully qualified teaching staff, who are not only CRB cleared and First Aid trained, but have over 50 years teaching experience between them. All teachers are members of the I.S.T.D (International Society of Teachers of Dance) Which is one of the worlds largest international dance bodies, with members stretching as far as Australia, Canada and Italy.

The Principal, Carla Speers, trained at SLP Performing Arts College in Leeds for 3 years, gaining teaching qualifications, and professional dance experience, and left as a diploma graduate.

The school takes part in an annual performance at a professional theatre, where in costume, on stage, the students get to experience the whole magic of theatre. Each show has been a complete success sold out to large audiences of friends and family, who watched their budding performer shine on stage! Show pieces included "Commotion in the Ocean"; "Joseph"; "High School Musical"; "Cats"; "Aladdin"; "Oliver"; "Annie"; "Magic Mystery and Mayhem" " Schoolz Out" and specially scripted pieces for the stage school.

Every Summer Holiday we hold a week long Stage School where participants are involved in all areas of theatre crafts such as Drama, Dance, Singing and Prop/Scenery making, building up to a performance at the end of the week.

Throughout the year, students work hard towards their examinations in Cecchetti Ballet and I.S.T.D Tap and Modern. Once passed, the dancer not only moves into the next grade, but is also awarded a certificate from the I.S.T.D. Headquarters.
