Members of DKSoHD at Warkworth Castle
The Dancing school holds classes in Newcastle upon Tyne, Cramlington and Blyth and is open to anyone over the age of four regardless of experience or ability.
The DKSoHD takes great pride in performing for the local communities and regularly dance at retirement homes, care homes, charity and fundraising events and fairs and fetes, as well as these we are often seen out and about performing with The North Tyneside Pipe Band.
As well as dancing locally we also travel farther afield to Dance or music festivals such as Shepley Spring Festival in Yorkshire which we visit every year.
We have also performed abroad in Aviles, in Northern Spain, Lorient in France, Seeboden in Austria and at the XI,XII and XIII Worldfolkdance Festivals in Palma, Mallorca where we will also be taking part in the XIV Worldfolkdance Festival in 2013.
In August 2012 we are travelling to Paris France to dance in Paris City Centre and Disneyland.
Highland Dancing is a great way to get fit, meet new people and make new friends and our Dancing School also provide the opportunity to travel to dance festivals and experience the dance and culture of other towns, counties and countries.

''New visitors to the Fair from Blyth, the Donna Kimberley School of Highland Dancing, proved a very popular hit. The troupe of young dancers, beautifully costumed, gave two very fleet-footed performances and showed real expertise with the some of the trickier Highland steps and a display of swords. We'll certainly hope to welcome them back next year, their performance really lit up the wrestling ring - prior to the young wrestling contenders arriving, of course. '
