Dance Dedication is run by nationally-acclaimed teacher Mikey and his Team of Teachers, DJ's and Coaches.

We pride ourselves on our friendly and welcoming atmosphere and our key aim is that dancers relax, have fun, meet new people and are offered a challenge to improve their dancing whilst enjoying a great night out.

Modern Jive is a smooth, modern combination of many well known dance styles such as Jive, Salsa, Tango and Ballroom.

Unlike most dance styles that have grown up around a certain type of music in a certain era, Modern Jive lends itself to almost any musical style ranging from current chart hits to blues, latin, r&b, and swing.

Modern jive is not a dance just of the moment, it's been around for over 20 years and its increasing popularity has made it the fastest growing partner dance around today.

The reason for this is that it is easy to learn (no fancy footwork)
along with its fantastic visual impact.

Within a few short weeks, total beginners to Modern Jive can look as if they've been dancing for years.

Not only this, but Modern Jive is undoubtedly the most social of all dance styles.

The way the classes are structured, dancers are constantly changing partners throughout the lessons, and then after each song during the freestyle period.

The ladies are encouraged to ask the men to dance as well as the men asking the ladies.

You don't need to bring a partner, there is no need to dress specially, simply dress for comfort and you don't need to book.

Just turn up and bring along a sense of humour. You will also be entertained and have fun whilst dancing yourself fit.

Our teacher Mikey has over 24 years professional experience throughout the UK, teaching at his own clubs, guest teaching for other dance companies everywhere from the tip of Cornwall to the heart of Scotland.

He has featured on the bill at National Jive Weekend events for organisers such as Jive Addiction, Jivetime, Party Weekender and Holiday Rock.

His reputation has also led to him teaching overseas both for UK jive holiday groups and for local organisers.

Whilst he is renowned nationally for his cheeky humour and laid-back teaching style, at the Club level dancers know him as someone passionately committed to helping them reach their dancing goals.

He always has time to break down the technicalities of a move for beginners or advanced dancers alike, or to challenge students to extend their musicality and interpretation.

His professionalism and dedication ensures that all newcomers quickly progress and soon become accomplished dancers - all whilst having a great night out!
