Gedling Ballet School is based at Gedling Memorial Hall, Main Road Gedling Nottm and also at the Performing Arts Centre Wheldon School, Coningswath Road, Carlton Nottm. Established for over 20 years the school has a reputation for excellence but also a caring approach to its students and dance training.

Classes cover all grades of the Royal Academy of Dance, including vocational grades. Gedling Ballet School is a very active school and provides a broad dance training, theatre trips are offered and dance workshops/courses with professional companies, a school show is held every 18 months to two years and parents are regularly invited to watch a small scale performance at the end of term.

The school has seen pupils achieve success in many different areas of the dance world including costume and theatre stage craft as well as dance in the professional theatre, such as Leipzig Ballet Company and European tour of the new musical theatre production Ben Hur.

In 2009, 7 students were offered Royal Ballet School Associate places, and 4 successfully auditioned for the Royal Ballet Summer School. Students performed with Northern Ballet Theatre at the Theatre Royal Nottingham, took part in a Fashion show with Tesco and a Fashion Show at the Albert Hall with Nottm Trent University. Every member of the school was given the opportunity to perform in the school show at the Nottingham Playhouse.

Over the years students have successfully auditioned for government funded scholarship places at the top vocational schools including the Royal Ballet School White Lodge and Elmhurst Associate School of Birmingham Royal Ballet, as well as Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, and Tring Park (Arts Educ School).
