About Cheshunt

Cheshunt is a Hertfordshire town, home to 50,000 people and now popular with commuters as it’s only 13 miles north of London.

The town can trace its history back to the Domesday Book in 1086, and Elizabeth I lived in the town before ascending the throne.

Cheshunt has a thriving economy and has been the birthplace of many well known brands: Tesco have their headquarters in Cheshunt, and Lotus Cars and Debenhams department stores were also started here.

There are lots of attractions for visitors to the town, including the nearby Paradise Wildlife Park, the beautiful Capel Manor Gardens, and Forty Hall and Estate.

The Lee Valley Park with its excellent range of water-sport activities, and Great Wood Country Park which offers lovely woodland walks and the chance to spot the local wildlife, are both easily accessible from Cheshunt.

Cheshunt has several famous sons and daughters including singer Cliff Richard, Olympic Gold Medalist Laura Trott, and ex Spice Girl and fashion designer Victoria Beckham.
