Salcare has been helping people for over thirty years. We collect donated furniture and offer it for sale at low cost in our warehouse. Anyone can buy from us, but we also take referrals from Social Services, Health authorities, charities (eg Barnardo's) and other voluntary organisations.
In our charity shop we sell clothes, bedding, books, CDs, DVDs and bric a brac. Our prices are very low (£1.25 for jumpers and tops and £1.50 for trousers and skirts - as at 20/07/09). All items comply with Trading Standards regulations.
Sunrays Cafe on site offers low cost, tasty meals with a "pensioner's special" - a hot meal and a pudding all for a low price. There is a hot meal delivery service for those living very locally to Salcare.
While browsing for a bargain, customers can also deliver their laundry to our laundry service. A wash and dry service is offered, with washers and driers large enough to take duvets and blankets.
Many people use Salcare as a drop in centre, spending much of their day here. As well as all this, we also have a free, drop-in Welfare Benefits Adfvice Service on a Friday morning - helping people to claim benefits to which they are entitled or giving advice on issues such as redundancy. Come and visit us!
